Why our coffee is so good

We import our own beans, roast them special, and provide a consistent product we know you’ll enjoy. Smooth, never bitter, easy to drink as a black or white. This is why we have “The best coffee outside Italy”. The in-house coffee is now a single origin, a Guatemalan bean, roasted enough to provide flavour for the connoisseur without scaring off newcomers.
The Wallabadah building has had a business in operation since at least 1905, trading as a general store, pub, hardware, haberdashery, gifts and now a café. Thousands of people travel the highway past the shop every day, our signage is a draw card, many can’t help but to challenge our claim.
Knowing we can’t satisfy every palette, our aim is to please 80% of samplers. We tried beans from PNG, Ethiopia, Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Spain, Italy and blends involving each, all falling short. The signage was a marketing ploy to start with, it turned out to be an obsession. Two years of tests and trials led us to 85% customer satisfaction.
Thankyou Guatemalan beans. We use the word blend loosely, it’s really a dedication to the journey we took, in formulating our “original blend”.
